The iced caramel macchiato is one of the most popular drinks at coffee shops around the world, favored especially by younger crowds and anyone looking for a kick of caffeine with an extra boost of sugar! Undeniably delicious, the one problem with caramel macchiato’s is that they can get quite expensive...when you buy them every day!
At NineLife, we sell products to help people live more convenient, happier lives - and to save them money! If you’ve been buying caramel macchiatos and burning through your paychecks, and want to find a more affordable way to enjoy your favorite coffee drink, you have come to the right place. Here, we’re sharing our favorite recipe for a caramel macchiato that is almost identical to the one you might get at a certain popular coffee chain, plus all the ingredients you’ll need to achieve the perfect caramel flavor!
Ingredients
● 2 shots Espresso: if you have an espresso machine, we recommend using Espresso Italia from Toy Dog Coffee, or Miscela d’Oro Cremoso Espresso Capsules for those of you with an instant espresso machine. If you don’t have an espresso machine, you can use 4-ounces of cold brew coffee instead
● 1 tbsp Vanilla Syrup: everyone’s favorite and one of the best tasting vanilla syrups comes from Torani, and is also available in a sugar-free version
● 1 tbsp Caramel Sauce: delightful on fruit, ice cream, and coffee, we recommend Ghirardelli Caramel Sauce for this recipe
● ¾ cup Milk: choose your favorite milk! If you are looking for a good plant-based option, oat milk makes the perfect creamy substitute
● ⅓ cup Ice Cubes: have a little fun with your drinks by making heart and star-shaped ice cubes
Recipe:
1. If using espresso: make and set aside to cool slightly while preparing the rest of the drink
2. Add vanilla syrup to a 16-ounce glass
3. Add ice
4. Pour milk over ice
5. Carefully top milk with espresso or cold brew. Tip: hold a spoon over the surface of the milk and pour onto the spoon to keep your layers separate for a more aesthetic finished look
6. Drizzle caramel sauce over the top of your drink
7. Stir and enjoy!
